About Me:
I am a Faculty Librarian and until recently managed a digital production/library makerspace at North Seattle College. My professional background includes film festival curation; media and arts production; historical research and writing; and archival work with film and print materials. My Coursera participation will help me develop professional skills and knowledge of copyright, information systems, instruction, information literacy, and other subjects. I manage the Women and Film section of the WSSLinks website, a resource of the Association of College and Research Libraries/Women and Gender Studies Section. My nonfiction writing for HistoryLink.org includes essays about historic buildings and surrounding communities in Seattle, such as Washington Hall (http://bit.ly/T7OfbH). I am a member of the American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Librarians, and the Carl Brandon Society, an organization that helps to further awareness of race and ethnicity in speculative literature / science fiction and related fields.
