About Me:

I am a high school librarian at Foreman College & Career Academy in the Chicago Public Schools. Previously, I taught English and Special Education at several high schools nationwide. I am also a founding member of Library Defense, a Chicago-based collective that organizes to raise awareness of elected officials whose platform involves banning diverse books. In 2022, I was awarded a scholarship to complete my school librarian certification through the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Most recently I was honored to be selected as a Fellow by the University of California Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement. I am also a proud member of the Chicago Teachers Union.
