About Me:
Rosa Rodriguez is the Outreach Coordinator at the California State University San Marcos University Library. Es orgullosament bilingue and a first-generation college student. She earned her Master of Library and Information Science degree from San José State University (SJSU), a Master in Sociological Practice from California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) and a Bachelor of Arts at CSUSM that focused on Sociology, History, and Political Science. She was the founding President of REFORMA San José State University (SJSU) School of Information (iSchool) Student & Alumni Group. She led the group from fall 2020-spring 2022. Rosa created the group’s signature program Cafecito con… Her professional memberships include REFORMA National, American Library Association, Association of College and Research Libraries, California Library Association, Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services, and other library related groups. Rosa’s professional interests are centered on promoting library services through outreach to underserved populations, raising cultural awareness through programs that reflect the campus and community, and expanding book collections to support the needs and interests of students. Rosa seeks to inspire other Spanish-speaking and Latinx emerging librarians. When she is not planning library events, Rosa enjoys listening to vinyl, experiencing the outdoors, and exploring libraries and other hidden gems on her travels.
