About Me:
Umar earned his Masters degree in Library and Information Sciences from Islamia University Bahawalpur and has an experience of 10 years in reference and research at the American Information Resource Center (AIRC) of the Embassy of the United States of America in Islamabad, Pakistan. He has attended more than a few international training programs including “Communicating with the Key Audiences,” “Working with the Press,” “Foreign Service National Exchange Program” and “Strategic Time Management.” Umar has been the resource person for many LIS workshops and training programs in Pakistan. He has also been engaged with teaching of information sources and services to graduate students at a distance learning university in Islamabad. He is one of the pioneer members of SLA in Pakistan and now is the Secretary of the Asian Chapter of Special Libraries Association (SLA.) He is the author of 8 articles on Library and Information Sciences published in different journals. His areas of interest are time management, communication skills, professional ethics, information sources, and online research.
