About Me:
I have been a school librarian for 10 years. I am the 2013 recipient of the Chiquita Marbury Technology Innovation Award for Middle School awarded by the Alabama State Department of Education, the 2012 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award which is granted by Alabama School Library Association to a person who has shown outstanding leadership in advancing the theory and/or practice of school librarianship, and the 2012 Herman Moore Library And Media Professionals (LAMP) Award for Excellent Service awarded by the Alabama Library EXPO Board. After receiving my BSED in Secondary and Middle School Language Arts from the University of North Alabama my career began as a high school language arts teacher. I earned her MLIS from the University of Alabama and is currently the library media specialist at Russellville Middle School. I am currently pursuing my Instructional Leadership certification at the University of North Alabama. I conduct monthly instructional strategy training for the RMS faculty, serves as technology representative, and on several school and district committees.
