About Me:
As an award winning business owner, educational futurist, instructional technology integrator, change agent and advocate for outstanding educational opportunities for all, regardless of any perceived impediments, while also a socially involved mother of five children ranging in age from 18 to 4, I am an avant-garde developer of human educational potential. With specific interests in ELL and underrepresented population technology learning initiatives, wireless learning and digital literacy, and how music, multilingual education and game theory can be used in improve student performance and desire to learn from the cradle to college and beyond, as the Owner and Chief Instructional Designer at HERSTORY - Instructional Design Solutions, I have focused my business, professional and personal mission to the improvement of the global education system - one learner at a time. Holding permanent New York State teaching certification in Business and Distributive Education and Social Studies 7-12 with a grade 5-6 extension, I have not only taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels, but also at the post secondary levels from community college to Bschool MBA programs to Tech Launch pads. With a quest for learning that I model, I continue my education by taking online courses and educational seminars. I have taken and created Moodles, PodCasts, BlackBoard, and other online and blended courses as well as am an active user of social media, Iphone, Ipad and Blackberry technologies for business and educational endeavors. My cutting edge work in intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship development, my proprietary learning methodologies and my experience and education in I.T., online, blended and direct instruction have combined to forge new and creative business partnerships with the goal of transforming traditional PreK-20 education into lifelong learning for all. Issues of the collaborative process between higher education and business to advance entrepreneurship are of great importance to my work. I have previously completed a wide array of research and development involving the burgeoning Tech Valley of New York State and its economic, social and civic implications as an author of an on-line resource for NYS state residents and utilize this unique information and experience to assist students, faculty and members of the community and not-for-profit organizations. I look forward to actively participating in Library 2.0!
