    About Me:

As the Advocacy Officer for IREX's Biblionet Program I am responsible for: • Providing advocacy expertise to IREX’s Biblionet Program - as part of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Global Libraries Initiative - in designing an advocacy training tool kit for community development by facilitating access to information via the Internet within equipped public libraries manned by librarians trained in IT and modern library service development and management; • Working with relevant governmental, community, and library stakeholders in networking, policy advocacy, and training activities in support of the program, librarian, and community goals; • Designing and conducting model advocacy workshops for librarians, in tandem with key community stakeholders - according to the "whole-system-in-the-room" methodology - with key members of the National Association of Librarians and Public Libraries of Romania and with urban and rural librarians with a view to developing implementable and fundable action plans; • Networking through local partnerships to give women tools to improve their lives, families and communities; these “outside-the-box” advocacy activities have increased not only educational and cultural programs for public libraries, but also ensured access to lifesaving health information, and strengthened librarians’ and partner stakeholders’ advocacy potential in their communities.
