As accessing valuable professional development opportunities and conducting collaborative business makes greater use of web conferencing tools, WLMA has created and expanded its incorporation of a "WLMA Webinar Strand" in our annual conferences.
This year, in conjunction with the Library2.013 Worldwide Conference WLMA will both share-out and invite-in sessions of particular interest to teacher-librarians. As Library and Information Technology program leaders we want to model being active users and producers of ideas and information, and we hope that everyone attending our conference in Yakima, WA will also actively participate in one or more online/hybrid session during the 2013 WLMA Conference as one way to "Get in Gear!"
During each "outbound" session, live in-the-room-in-Yakima presenters will conduct sessions while WLMA moderators will share the live presentation with the Library2.013 conference.
During "inbound" sessions, live-on-the-web Library2.013 sessions will be projected by WLMA facilitator, and an in-room facilitator will serve as "guide on the side" for WLMA participants exploring the interactive features (via BYOD or available laptops) provided in the WLMA Webinar room.
As both our conferences solicit and schedule presentations, we look forward to weaving the opportunities this hybrid conference model into something valuable for all.
