With the migration policy sheets taking up the last few weeks, today, the first day of training, is perhaps a good point to pick things up.A couple of pointers which may be useful on the data mapping front. As a pre-cursor to this I ran the Marcout script thinking this is how the data would be extracted. SAAS..a word of caution.

As the project progesses, the issue of what exactly Enterprise does to justify the SAAS tag has reared it's head. (In this case) this was sold as a complete OPAC package, in that you need e-library or an equivalent to have the full fuctionality from the fuzzy logic search and enrichment.In our case enrichment was not made available if e-library had been chosen as a stand alone option.In actual fact you are required to host the OPAC server, whilst SD 'host' Enterprise and the enrichment. Update.

Having looked at the Enterprise (which is e-library with a fuzzy log blot on), it would appear that the SAAS option is slighty fuzzier than the logic appled for search criteria. In short, there is no need for this to a SASS option in the first place; indeed Enterprise 3 is being offered as a self hosting option. The enrichment is billed extra; so you have SAAS fees, plus enrichment fees. By my reckoning AquaBrowser would be a far more economical model over the same time frame. Give Dave Patten…
