Short Session Description (one line): This session will focus on how librarians can transform their instruction to include AI through evaluation, prompt generation and instructional strategies.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): AI use is increasing exponentially, however, according to the US Department of Educational Technology, there's a less than 15% awareness of AI in educators. An informal survey of summer students at a local university revealed that nearly 90% of students were using AI. It is critical that educators learn how to safely integrate AI into their instruction. Librarians are a natural fit, since AI slides into information literacy instruction very naturally. Librarians are already teaching how to search for and evaluate information and incorporating how to write prompts and evaluate AI generated information can be included. Librarians work across all content areas and have the ability to collaborate with educators to help build their confidence in this area. This session supports librarians as they learn about AI and how AI fits into information literacy. Resources to support integration in their school and library are included!
