Short Session Description (one line):

Meet 2025 school librarians already in the bud.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

We have a clue of what it already looks like, because we have interviewed 30 world class librarians who are already on the cutting edge of school library practice.  They have a set of characteristics that are needed by many school librarians if they want to even exist in 2035. Do you want to learn more about the secrets of these world class librarians?

What makes these professionals both visible and indispensable in their schools and community? What pushes their actions into the center of teaching and learning?

You will be the first to get a glimpse of what world class looks like, and is demonstrated in this presentation, but, better yet, you can do the following to really get a sense of the path forward. Here is how:

  • Before the conference, experience at least a half dozen of the interviews in the Alivelibrary.info website.
  • Jot down your own list of characteristics you sense.
  • Compare your list at the conference when Dr. Joyce Valenza presents.
  • Then, listen to your presentation and construct the best characteristics expressed in our collaborative Google form.
  • Then, suggest to the group to our session presenters steps to leap into the future of school libraries.
  • P.S. At the end of our presentation, we will have a major announcement that you will not want to miss!!!!!!!!!!!!
