Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Current developments in the information literacy landscape mean that college bound students have increased challenges in navigating the transition to higher education. These challenges, compounded with targeted attacks on k-12 librarians, the defunding of school and academic libraries, and the assaults on intellectual freedom, ensure that the work of librarianship is as important as ever. Ideas will be presented about opportunities for collaboration regarding issues of AI within the academy, how to support students’ information literacy skills as a meanstoencourage democratic learning and engagement, and the importance of workers’ advocacy for intellectual freedom.
