Short Session Description (one line): What Writing Instructors Need from our Library Colleagues
Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Whether as a form of assesment or the entire focus of a course, writing is changing due to genAI's emergence, and writing instruction is changing along with it. I have taught freshman composition for nearly 20 years and worked with colleagues in other disciplines. For the last several years I have followed the emergence of generative AI and am working on ways to apply it in my courses. Several needs have arisen that I would love my library colleagues to support, and I am working with them on how they can help students sift through vast amounts of information and synthesize it into knowledge of their own.I am sure you can offer similar services to faculty at your institutions as well as we are all contending with the same needs and processes. I aim to emphasize creative approaches and meaningful partnerships.
