Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
As artificial intelligence becomes more intertwined with our everyday information tools, colleges and universities are scrambling to address its usage in academic settings and take a firm stance. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has provided its teaching faculty with some guidance on how to approach the use of artificial intelligence in their classrooms as well as language to include in their syllabi on usage policies. It has not, however, provided any guidance or approached the library at all, yet we serve all faculty and students throughout the research process. This session will discuss how one librarian has approached responsible use of AI tools in research and writing and developed a widget for wielding ChatGPT’s powers of brainstorming.
