We're looking forward to the first online meeting of the 2.011 Conference
International Advisory Board on Wednesday, October 5 at 10:30am PT. To find the correct time for your time zone, seehttp://bit.ly/quwNTX
We will use Blackboard Collaborate to meet online. Here is the information
to join the session:
To join the session, go to:
https://nexus.sjsu.edu/join_me
By following this link, you will be able to join the web session, and will
be joined to audio via your computer. If you've never used Blackboard
Collaborate before, you can test out your machine in advance - please see
that information below my signature. Please do this in advance of our call, and email if you have any trouble. A headset/mic combination works best for your voice participation. If you are not able to use a mic, a chat screen is available as well for submitting questions and comments.
We will record this meeting as well, so if you are unable to join for any
reason - time, technology or otherwise - you will be able to view the
recording afterward.
A brief agenda:
* Welcome & brief introductions
* Updates
* How you can help and participate
* Questions
In the meantime if you have any additional discussion items please let me
know. We will endeavor to keep this meeting to 30 minutes, but we have
scheduled for an hour. This will be an opportunity to meet together, and to
answer any questions you may have.
Again, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Thank you!
Scott Brown and Kim Dority
Co-Chairs, 2.011 Conference International Advisory Board
More on Blackboard Collaborate:
To check that your computer is ready for Blackboard Collaborate, please go
to
http://support.blackboardcolla
"Step 1" will indicate if you have a version of Java that is compatible, and
then "Step 2" lets you actually go into a test session. Please do this in
advance of our call, and call or email if you have any trouble. A
headset/mic combination works best for your voice participation. If you need to listen through your computer speakers, just be aware that there will be an echoing problem if you don't turn off your mic when you're not speaking (there's no echo-cancellation in this environment).
Typically it is best to have a headset to join the meeting for audio. You do
not have to have a headset to listen, as long as you have speakers. If you
want to speak, and your computer has a microphone, you can also use that
mike, you just need to turn off your microphone when you are not talking.
